a major chunk of the Himalayas in the country, India has excellent white
water potential, including several rivers still awaiting first descent. The
variety of flora and fauna combined with the rich cultural heritage and
hospitable people all along the Indian Himalayas, make river trips in this

Rafting
in Zanskar River
A self contained, multi-day river
adventure down the spectacular and scenic Zanskar river gorge. The trip
takes you down the extremely desolate, remote and sheer Zanskar gorge, with
walls rising a few thousand feet out of the riverbed, culminating on the
mighty Indus river. This, combined with hikes and visits to various gompas
in the Ladakh and Zanskar region, makes this a fascinating trip to the last
truly-lost horizon of our shrinking planet - Zanskar, the land of white
copper. This run enhances the experience of journeying down this otherwise
un-trekkable gorge.

Skiing in Auli
The large slopes of Garhwal and
Kumaon Himalayas, covered with seasonal snow, become an ideal place for
skiing in the winter months. One can feel the adrenaline levels rising as
one negotiates the challenges of the steep gradients, and traverses
unimaginable distances. The popular skiing playgrounds are situated near
Joshimath, and the place is known as Auli. The snow-capped slopes of Auli
are flanked by stately coniferous and oak forests which cut wind velocity to
the minimum. Auli offers a panoramic view of Himalayan peaks like Nanda
Devi(7817 mts.), Kamet(7756 mts.), Mana Parvat(7273 mts.) and Dunagiri(7066
mts.) seemingly only a snoball's throw away.
